About RPKIViews
RPKIViews discovers and stores all the world's RPKI data. The guiding principle is to support future and unforeseen use cases by making the world's RPKI data easily accessible in its original form. RPKI material is collected globally from multiple topologically and geographically diverse vantage points using both rsync and RRDP synchronization. The project is operated by Job Snijders.

Archive Forms
Full Snapshots
The most straight-forward form of archiving is full snapshots: after each validation run the node simply copies its complete validated cache into a Gzip-compressed tar archive. The advantage of this form is that each snapshot is self-contained internally consistent complete view of that run. The trade-off is that the full snapshot archives are somewhat slow to produce, fairly large, and successive snapshots contain a lot of redundant data. Snapshots are available immediately after capture.
The Rpkispool Format
The rpkispool method is a newer approach for materialization of RPKI data in order to support a range of use cases such as auditing Certification Authorities and analytical research. Rpkispools can be used for high-latency replication of raw RPKI data and associated validation states as efficiently compressed durable objects. The method uses widely available standardized tooling (ustar, pax Interchange Format, Zstandard, and CCR) and is designed to support long-term preservation of RPKI data in a cost-effective way. The advantage is higher frequency data capture while using less storage, on the other hand the production relies on a centralized compacting process which delays publication up to one day.
